Celebrate two centuries of Highland distilling mastery with The Glendronach 200th Anniversary 14 Year Boynsmill House Edition. Released to commemorate the founding of the iconic distillery by James Allardice in 1826, this extraordinary limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky is named after the historic Boynsmill House, the original Georgian estate located at the heart of the distillery. It stands as a brilliant tribute to the heritage of the "Valley of the Brambles" and a stunning showcase of The Glendronach's revered sherry-forward house style.
Masterfully crafted through a complex triple-maturation process, this 14-year-old whisky is primarily aged in the distillery's signature Pedro Ximénez (PX) and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalusia, Spain. To add an extra layer of elegance, it is then finished in carefully selected Claret red wine casks. This unique red wine influence brightens the spirit's deep, dark fruit notes, lifting the rich sherry profile with delicate berry nuances and subtle tannins. Bottled at a robust 46.8% ABV (93.6 proof) and presented in a 700ml format with its natural, deep amber color, it offers an incredibly rounded and sumptuously rich sipping experience.
Tasting Notes
Nose: A bravura aromatic performance featuring rich Christmas cake, candied orange peel, and dark cherry, elegantly layered with dark chocolate, polished oak, and roasted almonds.
Palate: Full-bodied, velvety, and luxurious. Deep waves of dried figs, dates, and dark cherry compote are beautifully balanced by honeyed malt, warm cinnamon spice, and a touch of espresso.
Finish: Exceptionally long, warming, and refined. Lingering notes of sweet dark fruit and baking spices are gracefully framed by a subtle, dry tannic structure from the Claret casks.
