Tasting Notes (Aroma, Palate & Finish)
Nose (Aroma): Baked apples and graham cracker sweetness, layered with toasted oak, caramel, roasted nuts, cinnamon spice, and honeysuckle.
Palate: Full-bodied with honeysuckle honey and vanilla crème brûlée, evolving into toffee, toasted pecan, grilled pineapple, dark chocolate, and espresso.
Finish: Long and warm with lingering peppery spice, sweet oak, and spiced caramel.
Production & Blending (The 2XO Difference)
2XO stands for “Two Times Oak,” referring to Dixon Dedman’s pioneering double-barrel technique. For The Vinyl Blend, Dixon used two proprietary Kentucky bourbon mash bills – one high-rye (35%) and one moderate-rye (18%). A portion of the high-rye bourbon was re-barreled in char #4 oak barrels for 9–12 months, creating a deep, oak-rich component that was blended with the original bourbons.
The final blend:
40% double-oaked high-rye bourbon
30% original high-rye bourbon
30% moderate-rye bourbon
The result is an expertly crafted, limited-run bourbon with rich vanilla, toffee, spice, and balance.
